Abilene Ballet Theatre holds open auditions for our performing season in September, traditionally the first Saturday after Labor Day. Our performing season consists of The Nutracker, The Sugar Plum Fairy Tea, Fairy Tales & Fables (Spring) and Regional Dance America/SW Festival (Spring). Auditions are conducted by ABT guest artist Kevin Freeman and are divided by age groups: ages 9-11 and 12 and up.

Auditioners should have at least four years of classical ballet training.

ABT company auditions for the 2019-2020 performing season are Saturday, September 7Auditioners should arrive neatly dressed 30 minutes before their audition time to complete paperwork and warm up. Students en pointe should bring pointe shoes to auditions. Students will be notified by mail of their acceptance into the company. Audition fee is $20.

Jr. I and II arrive at 10 a.m. to fill out forms
audition time for this group: 10:30am-noon

Senior I and II arrive at 1:00 to fill out forms
audition time for this group: 1:30-until finished

audition fee $20 cash or checks made payable to ABT.

Mr. Kevin Freeman of Dallas will be conducting audition

Company rehearsals take place on the weekends and in the evenings after regular classes.
