2008 Ballet Abilene Summer Schedule

**Cinderella's Enchanting Dance Camp**
(ages 3-4)

June 9-13, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Does your little ballerina dream of waltzing across the dance floor at the Royal Ball? If so, this is an experience you do not want your preschooler to miss! Join us for an enchanting week of pre-ballet/creative movement with Mrs. Lisa, art activities pertaining to Cinderella, ballet history, nutrition and anatomy, music, pantomime, and a visit on the final day from a very special guest!

Fee: $65 ($15 per day)

**Clara's Dreamy Dance Camp**
(Ages 5-6)

June 9-13, 1-2:30 p.m.

Does your little one have visions of Sugar Plums dancing through her head? If so, this is a wonderful learning opportunity you will not want your little one to miss! Join us for a dreamy week of ballet and creative movement with Mrs. Lisa, art activities pertaining to Nutcracker, ballet history, nutrition and anatomy, music, pantomime, creative dramatics, ballet vocabulary, and a visit on the final day from a very special guest!

Fee: $65 ($15 per day)

**Coppelia's Magical Dance Camp**
(Ages 7-8)

June 16-20, 10 a.m.-noon

Do you have an aspiring young ballerina who dances like a doll? If so, this is just the perfect learning experience you will not want her to miss! Join us for a magical week of ballet with Mrs. Lisa, art activities pertaining to Coppelia, ballet history, nutrition and anatomy, music, pantomime, creative dramatics, ballet vocabulary, movement concepts, costume design, and a visit on the final day from a very special guest!

Fee: $90 ($20 per day)

**Ballet for Junior I and II**
(Ages 9-12)

*12-year-olds already en pointe should enroll in Ballet for Senior I and II

July 7-10 and 14-17, 10 a.m - noon

Students will take a one-hour intermediate level ballet technique class with Mrs Lisa. After class, students will enjoy learning from videos, discussion, and activities pertaining to classic ballets, ballet history, ballet vocabulary, nutrition and anatomy, taking care of the dancer's instrument (the body), movement concepts and spatial awareness, stage make-up application, stretching, pre-pointe strengthening and an introduction to Pilates.

Fee: $150 for the session ($20 per day)

**Ballet for Senior I and II**
(Ages 12 and up)

June 2-4, 9-11, 23-25
July 7-9, 14-16, 21-23
August 4-6, 11-13, 18-20

6-7:30 p.m.

A one and a half hour intermediate/advanced level ballet technique class taught by Mrs. Nancy, Mrs. Lisa, or Ms. Julia will be offered throughout the summer. The goal is to provide a means for company dancers to stay in shape as they prepare for various summer intensive workshops across the U.S.

Dancers should bring pointe shoes to each class.

Fee: $120 per month
$330 for all sessions ($15 per class)

**Summer Intensive Workshop**
June 25-29

Guest teachers Konstantin and Irina Kolotov and Derek Turner of the Corpus Christi Ballet join us again this summer. This one-week intensive worshop will be available for dancers nine years and up. Dancers will benefit from technique class, pas de deux (partnering), pointe and variations, character, mime, jazz and hip-hop. The week will conclude with a studio performance to showcase the dancers and give them the opportunity to perform what they have learned.

$285-intermediate level (9-12), 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

$325-intermediate/advanced (13 and up), 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

***Dancers should bring all dance shoes (ballet, pointe, jazz, character heels) and a sack lunch daily. Guest teachers will be available for private instruction during this week only.


Get JAZZED! Dance Camps

Do you find your little one dancing in the aisles at the supermarket? Does your living room floor frequently double as a stage for your aspiring young dancer? Does he or she seem to have limitless energy? Jazz is your answer! Students will participate in a beginning/intermediate level jazz class with Mrs. Lisa. They will be doing musical theatre type movement with an emphasis on rhythm, coordination, movement concepts, spatial awareness, strength and flexibility and will learn fun dance combinations to age-appropriate music. Jazz is a fun and free form of dance!!!

Fee: $40, all age groups ($10 per day)

Broadway Babies I (Age 5-6)

June 16-20, 2-3 p.m.

Broadway Babies II (Age 7-8)

June 16-20, 1-2 p.m.
